As radiological imaging technology improves, more detailed anatomical and now physiological diagnostic information is possible and can better localise and characterise lesions in the head and neck region. Complex anatomy, pathology and treatment options require appropriate multidisciplinary consideration if imaging is to be used effectively. The authors have worked together for seven years and are all members of the Leeds head and neck cancer multidisciplinary team at St James’s Institute of Oncology, Bexley Wing.
